Procurement Manager

A fantastic new position has been created for an experienced Procurement Manager to join a fast-growing business based in Wetherby. You will be the lead in managing the company’s supply of products and services. The role is both hands on placing purchase orders through to strategically finding ways of reducing costs and improving gross profit. 

You will be involved in projects, implementing processes and procedures, and building strong supplier relationships.  You will be critical thinking, a strong negotiator with excellent attention to detail and planning skills.

Full-time, based in Wetherby.  Salary £50,000 plus benefits and excellent career opportunities

Responsibilities include -

  • Devise and use fruitful sourcing strategies
  • Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organisation partnerships
  • Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
  • Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
  • Finalise purchase details of orders and deliveries
  • Examine and test existing contracts
  • Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
  • Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
  • Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
  • Expect unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies
  • Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements
  • Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

You will have -

  • Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager
  • Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques
  • Talent in negotiations and networking
  • Strong competence with computer software systems
  • Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers
  • Experience in collecting and analysing data
  • Strong leadership capabilities
  • Qualifications in supply chain management, logistics or business administration
  • Ability to implement systems
  • Ability to work as a team
