Our client is a successful business that due to growth are looking to recruit a Field Based Engineer to focus on quality and training of projects taken place. You will be responsible for testing their installations to ensure they meet safety and quality standards. This involves visiting completed installations of equipment carried out throughout the UK and carrying out inspections. Commissioning and testing reports will need to be completed and any snagging works carried out. The position also includes handover and training of the equipment to the client.

The position is full-time, salary between £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.  Due to the nature of the role there will be frequent overnight stays where an allowance will be provided.

Responsibilities include -

  • Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are
  • Update our Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, fixes, and improvements
  • Audit our systems based on ISO 9001 requirements
  • Determine quality metrics for all installation procedures
  • Inspect product materials for defects and durability
  • Identify the root of technical issues and recommend fixes
  • Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions
  • Review current blueprints and quality documentation
  • Set and track quality assurance goals for installation teams
  • Coordinate with external quality assurance auditors and technicians to ensure legal compliance
  • Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
  • Provide excellent handover and training for customers

Experience required -

  • Previous work experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
  • Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
  • In-depth understanding of technical documentation
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis
  • Great attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Team spirit
  • Good analytical skills
  • Relevant qualifications are a plus
  • Proficient in IT usage
  • Confident at dealing with customers and presenting training to a group of people
  • Must be prepared for overnight stays when required
