Finance Manager
Location: Harrogate
Salary: £36,000 + performance based bonus
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm with an hour for lunch

The Role
We’re working with a highly regarded business in Harrogate who are looking for an experienced and detail-focused Finance Manager to oversee all aspects of their financial operations.
This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining financial accuracy, ensuring compliance and providing clear reporting to support strategic decision making. The role offers variety and autonomy, with involvement across day-to-day accounting, financial reporting and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities

Manage all aspects of company accounting using Sage 50 Accounts

Oversee purchase and sales ledgers, petty cash and daily bank reconciliations

Administer supplier payments and customer receipts efficiently

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports

Complete VAT returns and manage payroll via Sage Pay (PAYE, pensions, HMRC updates)

Lead month-end and year-end closing procedures including reconciliations

Support budgeting and forecasting, analysing variances and advising on improvements

Monitor aged debtors and implement effective credit control

Oversee high-volume client accounts

Manage payments, deposits and reconciliation processes accurately

Resolve internal and external financial queries promptly and professionally

Produce accurate reports for senior leadership

Support audits and liaise with external accountants as required
About You
-
Qualified or part-qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) or equivalent experience

Proven experience in finance or accounts management

Strong knowledge of Sage 50 Accounts and Excel

Excellent attention to detail, organisation and communication skills

Proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities
