Purchasing Manager – Construction & Fit Out
Location: Leeds
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 DOE, plus excellent benefits including 20 days + stats annual leave and your birthday off.
Our client specialises in high-quality refurbishment and fit out projects within the commercial and public sectors. This is a new exciting opportunity for an experienced Construction Procurement professional to join their supportive team as a Purchasing Manager.
As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring furniture, fixtures, and fit-out materials fit out projects. This role ensures that all materials and products are purchased on time, within budget, and in compliance with company quality, safety, and sustainability standards.
Responsibilities Include:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for commercial furniture, joinery, and fit-out materials
- Source, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards
- Ensure all purchased materials meet project specifications
- Manage purchasing schedules to align with project timelines and installation programs
- Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to track deliveries and manage inventory effectively
- Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
- Evaluate vendor performance based on quality, delivery reliability, and service
- Ensure supplier compliance with ethical sourcing, sustainability, and safety requirements
- Prepare and monitor procurement budgets for projects
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier contracts, and invoices
- Provide regular procurement and cost reports to management
Candidate Requirements:
- Minium 2 years procurement experience ideally within construction or fit out
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Analytical and cost optimisation skills
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Excellent organisational skills
